Downtown Comics

The source for comics and pop culture in Indianapolis since 1993

Our good buddy and author extraordinaire, Joe Peacock, is coming to the Downtown Store next Wednesday(December 16th) from 3 to 6pm to sign copies of his nationally published book "Mentally Incontinent"

Joe is one of those rare people to whom interesting things just sorta happen. For the amusement of his friends, he'd often recount in long e-mails his latest misadventure, whether it was witnessing an armed robbery or burning down various buildings/vehicles by accident. In 2002, he started collecting those stories on a Web site he founded, mentallyincontinent.com. Soon he had a large following of visitors, including a rabid core group who suggested edits and helped him hone his writing craft. In 2005, he self-published the best stories from his site as a collection and in the years since he's been holding impromptu readings across the country, selling thousands of copies (mostly out of the back of his truck). Last year he got picked up by Penguin/Gotham publishers and is now a big-time author guy with a book ranked #2 in humor on Amazon. Accompanying Joe will be Fark.com founder and author in his own right, Drew Curtis. They seem to travel together so you all get a 2 for 1 sit down with a couple of the funniest guys I know. After the signing we'll adjourn to The Ram Brewery around the corner for some beers and more blah blah blah. We'll be set up in the dining area so kids are welcome at the afterparty until things deteriorate later into the bar section.

Saturday was a pretty good turn out. I think they were just bar flys though. It was me, my hubby, and Nathan again -- so 10 people in total. Nathan won and had an awesome score of 14,994!
