As with all end of the month shipping, everything is out this week. DC has plenty of Blackest night and Batman along with the final 7th issue of Ambush Bug (there is no #6 its a gag don't ask). Marvel has alot of Avengers, 2 more LIST one-shots, plenty of Wolverine, the dead back to life in X-force/New Mutants (insert Blackest night joke here) and a couple of ultimate titles. Highlights from the other companies include a new Sword TP (Luna brothers), Die Hard Year one, a…

Travel back to the seventies with the new Marvel tumblers (Iron Fist, Doom, Wolverine, Silver Surfer, Spider-man, and Spider-woman). Marvels got Deadpool, Hulk, Spider-woman, Iron Man and Dark Avengers leading the way. DC has Batman, Superman, the Bagley Justice League, and some Blackest Night Supes. Kirkman tries to release more books than BM Bendis with Invincible and 3 issues of Don Bluths Space Ace (I hope he got a big check). Rounding out our week with some Whedon…

Hard to believe it but Amerigo Vespucci Day does not affect new comics WEDNESDAY this week. Deadpool finally makes it to 900 this week (about time). Cowboy Ninja Viking combines 3 of my 4 favorite things so this looks cool. Akira comes back into popular consciousness from a brand new publisher. And if you're looking for a book of the weird this week it would be Groom Lake by Ben (your art is really cool and I don't know why) Templesmith.

Wow Am I tired from 24 hour comic day. Yea that's it..that's the reason this is late. Anyway congrats to all the participants and special thanks to Jeff for pulling it all together. This week has a lot of interesting projects. Haunt by Kirkman/Mcfarlane, the first of 5 Bloom County HC that will reprint the whole strip in its entirety. The last PLANTARY (sad but happy also cause I can finally get the last trade). Along with Deadpool, secret warriors, amazing, astonishing…

Downtown Comics would like to congratulate James Ratcliffe and Chuck Gratner for successfully completing the 24 Hour Comic Challenge! Chuck finished in just over 23.5 hours, while James finished with exactly 8 minutes to spare. I will post the final pages in the AM, as I need to shut down the laptop and let it cool down -- also, everyone here at DTC Castleton is in dire need of sleep!
I would also like to thank Outback Steakhouse again for their support, as well as Bawls Guarana…

Whoo-boy! The drawing hands are gettin' sore, the bags under our eyes grown ever heavier and our resolve is tested to the limit as we close in on hour 23 of our 24 Hour Comics Challenge!
Riveting, no?
If not, then you really should have been here. Samantha Kyle and Lee Cherolis have returned to usher us accross the finish line. Chuck is on his 24th page! James is hot on his heels, now inking his 22nd page. I am tired...
That said, an awesome time has been had by…

Chuck now on page twenty while James is finishing up page seventeen of his opus. These guys are recharged on Starbuck's and ready to see this through to the bitter end! As of this writing, we are now an hour and a half past the halfway point of the 24 Hour Comics Challenge. Chuck and James are neck-and-neck, each on page 12. We have just under 11 hours left to go and spirits are high; even if energy levels are not quite so... I have also updated the photo albums in the sidebar again, so please check those out.
As a reminder, our 24 Hour sale is still going on through 5PM today when both the Challenge and the store will come to a close, so…

Well, Folks, we've just entered hour eight of our 24 Hour Comic Challenge! James and Chuck are still going strong - check out the featured photo albums in the sidebar of the DTC front page to chart their progress.
Sadly, Samantha Kyle had to leave us, but not before knocking out an impressive eight pages of pencil work in just under seven hours. We'd like to thank Sam, again, for stopping by and Lee Cherolis (of Indy Webcomics), as well. Lee did a rather "creative" sketch of myself…

We're moving through hour 3, now and I suppose its time to show some work. James Ratcliffe, a veteran of the 24 Hour Comics Challenge, has finished page 1 and is finishing up page 2 as we speak. We also have Chuck Gratner on hand. Chuck is taking a different approach, choosing to thumbnail his pages out before beginning his pencil work. He is currently on thumbnail #16. We also have Sam Kyle of the webcomic randomassembly.com. Sam is currently penciling page 5 of her comic entry (she promises…
